5 Truths About Life & How To Find Out The Rest

Jan 2, 2025
9 min read

This article is inspired by a talk I shared on YouTube, where I discussed 5 truths about life and how to find the rest. I thought it would be great idea to share it here as well in text form for those who enjoy reading.

With that being said, let's go ahead and dive in!

With the many books I’ve read and the many coaches and mentors I’ve listened to, I found these truths that I'm about to list to be painful, yet life changing.

If you can't handle true power, this article is not for you.

If you are interested in finding out some truths about life that may shock you, keep reading.

If you feel offended by any of these truths, it’s ok. First the truth will make you angry. Then it will challenge you, then it will change you. If you would like to comment, feel free to do so but be respectful about it, or your comment will be deleted.

1. No one is coming to save you.

No one is coming to save you. www.naycharles.com
Only Jesus can save.

It may sound harsh, but it's the reality we all have to face. Waiting for someone else to come and solve our problems is simply a waste of time.

One of the ways we are deceived into thinking that somebody owes us or someone will come and take us out of our misery is...you guessed it! Watching too much TV and too many movies!

It's not just that the TV programming is programming us incorrectly, it's that some of us never had parents who cared enough about us to monitor what we watch and to make sure we understood the difference between the TV and reality.

We'll often see a story of a talented boy or girl who was living in misery and someone notices their talents and skills and comes in to save them or help them to reach their goals and now they are rich, famous and happy. That can happen but oftentimes it does not.

We have to take responsibility for our own lives and actively work towards the changes we desire. It's easy to fall into the trap of hoping for a miracle, but true growth and progress come from within. So, instead of relying on others, let's focus on developing our skills, seeking knowledge, and taking action.

Remember, the power to shape our destiny lies in our own hands. Embrace the challenges, learn from them, and keep moving forward. With clarity, determination and perseverance, we can overcome any obstacle and create the life we truly want.

2. You can't save anyone.
You can't save anyone. www.naycharles.com
You'll learn the difference between those worth investing in and those trying to waste your time.

Many of us have or have had the Savior Complex. We see someone hurting or struggling and we want to swoop in and save them. We genuinely care for others and want to bless them with our resources so they can stop suffering.

It's not a bad thing to want to help others but I've learned that it's actually harmful to help people who never asked for it. If they haven't asked for it, they won't appreciate it. They may not feel like they have hit rock bottom and may resent or reject your help which can put a strain on the relationship.

This reminds me of Jesus teaching in Matthew 7:6: where he says:

"Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you."

This teaching encourages discernment in sharing valuable spiritual truths. "Pearls" symbolize the sacred and precious teachings of God, while "swine" refers to those who may reject or disrespect these truths.

Jesus implies that sharing spiritual wisdom with those who are unwilling to value or understand it could lead to it being misunderstood, ridiculed, or dismissed. The message is to approach others with discernment, investing in those open to growth and understanding.

It's up to each individual to make their own choices and navigate their own journey. We can offer support, guidance, and love, but we can't force someone to change or to be saved if they're not ready. People have to reach that point on their own terms, in their own time.

It may be a tough pill to swallow at times, especially when we see someone we care about struggling or making harmful decisions. But it's important to remember that everyone has their own path and lessons to learn. All we can do is be there for them along the way and genuinely hope that they find the strength within themselves to save themselves.

Once I let go of the Savior complex, I had more time to reach my own personal goals. The more goals I reach, the more the people in my circle start to change some of their ways if they find that what I’m doing works and I have more joy. If you want to save others, save yourself.

Be a great witness, a good example, plant a few seeds and leave the saving up to the only one who can save.

1 Corinthians 3:6-9 says:

"I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor. For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building."

For this next one, you need to brace yourself while you read.

3. If you don't know God your education is worthless.
If you don't know God, your education is worthless. www.naycharles.com
Some of us need extensive education according to the goal. Some of us just need to create.

This doesn't apply to everyone in every circumstance but what good are your degrees if you aren't aware of the one who created all things?

What good is your degree when you don't know your purpose?

What good is your degree if you don't even know how you got here?

What good is your degree if you don't know how to have happy relationships?

What good is your degree if you don't know your role as a king or queen?

What good is your degree if you don't know how the earth you live on began and how this system of living is going to end?

What good is your degree if you believe that politicians have the answers?

What good is your degree if you have no real knowledge of the reason why we suffer?

What good is your degree if you don't know how to earn a living?

What good is your degree if you don't have joy, patience, self-control or peace?

You study math but not the one who created it.

You study law but not the one who created it.

You study business but not the one who created it.

You study language and write books but not the one who created them.

You study human relationships but not the one who created us.

We can go on and on.

If you are unhappy, sick, out of shape, feeling unattractive or broke and are looking to every book and every guru to find out why instead of looking "THEE ONE" who knows everything, the only one you're fooling is yourself.

4. Without God man cannot and without man God will not.
Myles Munroe, OBE was a Bahamian evangelist and ordained minister, professor, author, speaker and leadership consultant. He founded and led the Bahamas Faith Ministries International, and Myles Munroe International.
Dr. Myles Munroe April 20, 1954 - November 9, 2014

I heard this quote from Myles Munroe. I've watched so many hours of his content and have been blessed by every single minute!

To think you can do something truly amazing without God is to build in vain.

Psalm 127:1:

"Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain."

This verse emphasizes that human efforts are ultimately futile without God's guidance and blessing, underscoring the importance of depending on Him for success and protection.

Myles Munroe says this: And I'm paraphrasing:

"God will do nothing on earth, in this world without man. So the principles is, there has to be a partnership between heaven and earth in order for things to happen here on earth. So what happens on earth depends on you. If you are rebellious, refusing his rule over your life, nothing Godly will work for you. Prayer is holy spiritual communion."

He goes on to say:

"To understand prayer, then, here is my simple definition of prayer and it took me about 35 years to write this one sentence. Prayer is earthly license for heavenly interference. What does this mean? Prayer is not an option for the believer. Prayer is a necessity. Prayer is a legal activity, but you cannot understand this unless you understand the kingdom's concept."

How many people did God use to bring about change in the land?

Why couldn't he just do it himself?

The last one may be the hardest to hear, so brace yourself and hold on to something as you read.

5. If you don't follow Jesus, you follow Satan by default.

“This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.” – Deuteronomy 30:19 (NIV)

Myron Golden says this:

"Have you ever seen a one sided piece of bread? Have you ever seen a one sided pancake?Have you ever seen a one sided sheet of paper?"

It's not that it doesn't exist. It's that it cannot exist.

There are two sides to everything in life. The law of polarity.

In this system, there is only good and evil. There is only up or down. There is only male or female. There is only left or right. But what about the middle? The last time I checked, the worst place to be is in the middle of the street.

The verse where Jesus expresses a preference for people to be either "hot or cold" is:

Revelation 3:15-16:

"I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth."

I don't follow Jesus, but I'm not evil, I'm just doing my own thing. News flash, in the eyes of God, you just got here 2 seconds ago, you don't have a thing! What is your thing? You were born into this world, how did you develop or come up with a thing already? There is no "my own thing" or "my own truth."

There is only thee truth. If your thing isn't God's thing, it's the devil's thing. Period. That's how easy life is for us. God didn't put several things here for us to choose and be confused. God is not the author of confusion.

So, we’ve covered 5 truths, but there are a lot more to discover.

How can we begin to learn about who God is and what He wants for us?

This resource was a simple addition to help me start to get familiar with the Bible when I decided to become a disciple of Christ.

In today's society, we are bombarded by scammers, coaches who aren't really coaches, and people who "sell money" instead of solutions. Instead of getting more in tune with our design and purpose, we long after the fake lives of social media influencers, and the fads they promote, all while leading unhealthy and fast-paced lifestyles.

In the same breath, we expect to be highly successful and most are willing to do anything it takes to have worldly success including lying, cheating, stealing, and committing heinous acts like murder, prostitution, and sex trafficking.

What will set you apart from the communities who support the rise of false doctrines, fake food, fake news, distractions, and the lures of this world's choice of influencers, celebrities, and standards of living?

The ONLY option is getting to know your Creator.

How can we get to know our Creator and what He desires of us? Do you know that there are benefits to obeying our Father in Heaven? Do you know that there are rewards and gifts that He prepared beforehand to bestow upon us if we would just follow His commandments? Do you know how powerful and confident you would be if you would learn His promises, principles, and precepts by reading His word?

Does it sound too good to be true? Have you ever tried it?

Are you finally tired of trying to keep up with people who seem to be getting ahead but in reality are heading nowhere fast?

If you are like me and you are looking for answers on how to conduct yourselves in your diet, business, and relationships, and how to persevere, develop, understand and practice patience, you've come to the right spot on the net!
